Abdominal Ultrasound

 

An abdominal ultrasound is a diagnostic medical imaging service that is used to assess organs within the abdomen.

This includes the liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys pancreas, aorta, IVC, spleen, and appendix/bowel. .

* 8 hours of fasting is required for this ultrasound. 

Please do not eat or drink anything past midnight the evening before your exam.

You may continue to take medications as required with small amounts of clear fluid (water or juice).

Scheduling your abdominal exam in the early morning may reduce the discomfort associated with fasting.
